The original site for the house was at Number 16 Edmund Street, but due to the clearing of the slums, regenerating the city after the blitz and building of the new inner by-pass and the new exe bridges the building had to be moved. Supported by a wooden structure the building was transported on rollers a total of 70 metres in 1961.

The building is a 15th century timber framed construction. The building is still in commercial use today, home of pirouette bridal shop.
